If an MVP is awarded and no one is around to hear it- does it make a sound? (Or something like that.)
Yesterday Dirk Nowitzki finally received the 2006-07 NBA Paper Weight MVP Award. One of the weirdest running subplots in the past few days was how, when, where and if ever will they give the trophy to Dirk considering his Mavs got blasted out of the first round by Tha Dubs. I was kinda hoping that Stern would present the trophy LIVE via videophone from the tunnel at the AWWWWW BOOOOO!!! Arena.
Anyway, here's some photos of the presentation and of the HUGE crowd attending the event, congratulations Dirk:
great crowd! they all love Dirk. Way to go, Dirkie!

He didn't actually stand up there and give a speech to a few empty chairs did he? Wow, I guess now he knows what its like to play in Miami.

Dirk is trying SO hard to look happy in that first picture. Do you think he was getting coaching from the photographer? "Okay, Dirk, pretend you're still in the playoffs...heading toward the Finals...come, on, you're still the favorite. Channel it, channel it!"
