D-Wade is Playoff Ready

Forget the 111-103 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats, forget shooting 3-9 from the field, forget committing six turnovers, Dwyane Wade is playoff ready. Huh???

The key stat, and what tells me that Miami is now a legitimate contender for the title... 12 freethrow attempts in 26 minutes of action. That comes out to 22.2 freethrow attempts per 48 minutes of action, basically playoff D-Wade. Yes folks, Dwyane Wade misses 6 1/2 weeks of competitive basketball and, without skipping a beat, the refs give him "the Wade treatment."

No warmup game, no "earning his points," just freethrow after freethrow. Not to be cynical, but I'm putting the freethrow over/under in a Wade-LeBron playoff showdown at 105. So forget about Detroit clinching a home court advantage, forget about mourning the loss of Agent Zero (and I will especially miss him this post season) and forget about "earning your points." D-Wade and his best move (the freethrow) are coming soon to an NBA Finals near you.

I for one am not looking forward to watching the Miami Sterns defend their "title." If watching a grown man in a flak jacket repeatedly launch himself into defenders constitutes a foul, I'll pass.

It is good though to see one of the greats return from an injury. I love watching the greats - A Dwight Howard rimrocker, a J-Kidd no-look pass, a Tim Duncan jump hook, and of course, D-Pussy shooting 35 free throws a game. It's fantastic!
