Just a simple question for y'all for the weekend...
Since the city of Boston threw a parade and celebration when Ray Bourque won the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Rockies, does that mean that we should expect one for former Celtic "great" Antoine Walker?
You may have finally broken The Curse in '04, but I will never forgive Sully, Murph, etc. for such a lame thing.
Correction: The Colorado Avalanche not the Colorado Rockies won the Stanley Cup. This is what happens whenever I reference exhibition sports like hockey.
I thought the Colorado Rockies were a baseball team.

low blow on hockey as exhibition sport
would love to hear your argument (without using tv ratings)

I just call it an exhibition sport to get a rise out of my friends who love it.
Though hockey lost a lot of my respect for throwing out an entire season for the strike, expanding to something like 84 teams (including one in Nashville?), and not protecting star players from thugs in the postseason. If we applied NHL rules to the NBA, players like Wade, Kobe, LeBron would all be knocked out by some third string thug in the first round.
The ONE thing that hockey has over other lower level sports is the playoffs. I've been to my fair share of playoff games and I have to admit, playoff hockey rules! Just too bad that the level of play doesn't extend to the regular season, but some people say the same thing about the NBA.
Hockey really needs to look at itself and find a new way to market the game. In the early 90's LA was definitely a hockey town. The Kings were the toast of LA as both the Lakers and Clippers sucked. Today, the Kings barely get daily coverage from the LA Times and nobody knows, cares or speaks of hockey. It's safe to say that MLS soccer is bigger than hockey in LA.

wow, has the void after the nba finals started already? that was quick. this is going to suck. the draft is close, and then it's a summer full of nothing but baseball. these are the times when a trade involving mark madsen or eduardo najera is the most exiting going on in basketball.

Boston did not give Bourque a parade moron. He brought the trophy to town and it sat in town. NO parade and Walker will laugh all the way to the playoffs. The Celtics will suck forever.
