I was going to write the EXACT same piece, you beat me to it and nice job.

Those tunovers WERE brutal. You forgot to mention his 2 points in the second abd 4 in the third quarter. I love watching Lebron, but I agree, let's have him actually win something before crowning him the greatest ever. It was only like a month ago that he actually made a couple of game winners, before that all you saw was him biting his nails on the bench.

cosign on this post. lebron was terrible, his low level of experience was obvious in game 2. so many things he did made me wince.

I agree: the daily Lebron-a-thon sports fans are subjected to is enough to make me want to gouge out my own eyes. Lebron is a fantastic player, but I don't want him shoved down my throat.

In the NBA in general, and in the Playoffs in particular, too much is made of a single performance. Lebron isn't always going to get a triple double, and he isn't always going to blow a game. The NBA, ESPN, and everybody else needs to let him build his legend without trying to make it for him. Give him a few years and a handful of playoff series. Then we'll be able to look back and identify an actual pattern.

Even the great players stumble. By the 1984 Finals, Magic Johnson had already won 2 championships and been named Finals MVP. But he still cost the Lakers that series with costly turnovers, critical missed free-throws, and by dribbling out the clock by mistake in an end-of-game situation. Everybody said Magic and the Lakers were done. People started calling him "Tragic Johnson" and questioned his mental toughness. He sort of proved all that wrong, I think. It just took time.
