Nice of Miami not to show up for last night's game in Dallas. The Mavs fully dominated the Heat en route to a 36 point victory! This was a chance for the Mavs to show a national television audience that they are for real, whooping up on an overrated Heat squad who clearly is waiting until after the All Star break to try to "turn it on" in time for a playoff run.
The weird thing about the Heat is seeing a Riley coached team totally quit in a game. They showed no fight at all in letting DAL rain 3s on them without a defender anywhere in the vicinity. The game was officially over 4 minutes into the 3rd period, after Jet Terry scored 11 points in that time, blowing the game open by expanding the Mavs' lead from 13 to 23 points. Yo, who's got 31?!
As impressive as the Mavs have been over the course of this 13 game winning streak, I think there's a good chance it will end tonight. They have to travel to Denver for a classic let down game, while Carmelo is probably going to drop 40 to "prove" to everyone he should have been selected to the All Star team, even though he should NOT have.
Something to note: Miami has ZERO wins against the top teams in the NBA (Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio and Detroit).
