The commercial for the new Air Jordan XXI is the best I've seen in quite some time. In case you haven't seen it yet, it shows kids of various ages in game situations re-creating the most famous highlights of Jordan's career. There's the free throw line dunk from the dunk contest. There's the "spec-TAC-ular move" from the Finals against the Lakers. There's the playoff game winner against Cleveland, and the Finals winner against Utah where he bitch slapped Bryon Russel. There's the 3-pointer from the Finals against Portland where he looks to the announcers and shrugs his shoulders before running back down court. It ends with Jordan himself smiling in approval on the sidelines. Just fantastic.
As for the shoes themselves, I'm not a big fan of the style, or dropping $175 unless you can recoup some of the cost somehow. The quality and comfort of these are top notch, so if you can justify the price tag and like the look, hey, you only live once.
I checked out the shoes and though they are a little pricey, they are VERY light. Plus they look a lot better in person than on the websites. I'll pass on those for the new Adidas Crazy 1's. (More on those later)

That commercial is the perfect microcosm of Jordan's amazing arrogance. Who besides Mike, and maybe Kobe, could run a commercial where it's clip after clip of children imitating him as he looks on with a big, shit-eating grin? I was laughing my can off until I realized that it wasn't supposed to be funny. Then I laughed harder.
