Great night of NBA history-making action last night. Kobe went for 81, and the Suns and Sonics broke the record for most three-pointers made in a game with 32. This game was also the highest scoring game in the league in 11 years, since Dallas and Houston combined for 303 points in April of 1995.
I was able to catch the 4th quarter and both overtimes, and yes, the defense was light, but from what I saw it was more good offense than bad defense. Nash made a great shot in the lane falling down at the end of regulation, and was yelling "and one" as he went to the bench because he got knocked to the ground while shooting. Ray Allen was hitting 3s with a hand in his face, and the game-winner he made was at least 5 feet behind the 3-point line.
I couldn't believe the Suns let Ray shoot that 3 at the end of the second overtime, fully knowing that he would hit it because he was on fire. He's really the only clutch threat on the Sonics, but they let him get it and hit the winning shot anyway. I guess the Suns are tired of losing triple overtime games this year, which they have done twice. That explains leaving Ray Allen open at the end of the second overtime. The Suns coach should change his last name to Antoni, because there definitely is no D in that team.
