The Raptors hosted the Nets in one of those wacky Canadian Sunday afternoon games. This was an extremely interesting game, as ESPN has detailed here. Normally I find this page on ESPN's website to be a waste of cyberspace, but check out their discussion of the game for an unusually well-detailed account.
For me, the main subplot with VC is the "scorned athlete" who was actually never scorned returning to deliver revenge on his former team. Revenge for what? For trading you to a team with some talent that resides just outside the biggest media center in the country, after you faked injuries to force the trade? Please. There is no reason for VC to be angry with the Raptors, yet he feels the need to go nuts against them whenever they meet.
Two other interesting notes here. One, the Nets have now won 10 in a row, thanks to the return of Vinsanity. They could actually get the 2 seed in the East the way Miami is playing. Second, did you know that Toronto, usually considered one of the two or three worst teams in the league (see Portland, the Knicks, and Atlanta) is only 3.5 games out of the 8th playoff spot in the East?! I know you could say the same for NY and Charlotte, and we're still early in the season, but it's worth noting how atrocious the Eastern Conference is right now.
lmao @ map
did u steal that from a kindergarten class?
