Nothing, unless you are a longtime fan of the L.A. Clippers. You see, that is Loy Vaught, who until last Sunday was the Clippers' all-time leader in double doubles! Overall I think that the "double double" stat is ridiculous. I mean, the fact that the league leader last year only had 56, that's a problem. Shouldn't players like Tim Duncan and KG get those every freaking night?! That aside, the fact the Loy Vaught was your all-time most consistent big man, simply proves the obvious that the Clippers have been a horrible franchise since, like, forever.
Let's break down the double-double into quarters. To average a double double, you need 2.5 points and rebounds a quarter. If you are over 6 feet 9 inches, rebounds should fall into your hands at least 7 times a game. This means that once a quarter, the player has to try to get the rebound after a missed shot. To get ten points a game involves 3 shots a quarter or 1 shot every 4 minutes. Not too difficult if the entire offense runs though you as in Garnett and Duncan. I agree the stat is overrated.
