The Clippers played well in this afternoon's contest against the Indiana Pacers, but lost the chance to rebound from a bad performance at DEN the other night by allowing Indiana to get two offensive rebounds in the closing seconds. The Clips were down two at the time, so they never got the chance to tie or take the lead on the final shot after Croshere for IND iced the game at the free throw line.
This is normally a game that is set up for LAC to win. A 930am EST start for IND coming in for the first game of a road trip is usually an easy win for the Clips. But the NBA is a funny league, in which teams approach each game with varying degrees of motivation. For IND, they were extremely motivated for this one.
After blowing out the red-hot Cavs at home on Thanksgiving, IND actually lost at home to the Atlanta Hawks, who had only one win all season before that game. The let down factor was in full effect after a great home win and ATL coming in the very next night, completely rested. Because of that loss, IND put "extra effort" into today's game, making sure they got back on the winning track. They played their asses off in the third quarter, holding the Clips to 16 points and outscoring them by 10 in the period.
By the way, did you see Ron Artest's latest hair cut? I thought he was stopping with the Rodman-esque crap this season. To quote a cliche that has become popular around The Association recently, I guess you are what you are.
I wish I was at the post game interviews session with Artest. A laught-out-loud moment is the fat/white/old reporters trying to figure out what the back of the head says or even means. "Ah, Ron...err....excuse me, but what does it say on the back of the head?" , "Can you say that again, a little slower" , "Ah, Ron...errr....excuse me, but what does that mean?"
Scoop Jackson must be his barber.
