Video: WNBA Fight

by Brett Edwards

That's right, the off season is so slow that I'm posting WNBA videos. But this one's interesting, I promise: it's the first (and hopefully the last) major brawl that's taken place in the WNBA.

I love that former Detroit Bad Boys Rick Mahorn and Bill Laimbeer were prominently involved in this; Mahorn physically, and Laimbeer verbally. Bill warned one of the refs that the game was getting too chippy and that they needed to get control, but they didn't listen, and well, this was the result. And hey, when did wheelchairs become so prevalent for dealing with injuries on the basketball court? What happened to the days of simply carrying a player off the court? I guess the legacies of Paul Pierce and Dwyane Wade are safe forever.
