If you haven't seen the new "The Second Coming" ads for the Nike Air Force 25 shoes, well here it is:
Bring in KG and Agent Zero and you suddenly have the greatest pick-up game in the world. My favorite moment is Sheed doing the Rick Flair... good stuff.
Anyway, the ad campaign is a modern twist on the initial Air Force 1's that were introduced in 1982. To give you an idea of how long ago that was, the original six NBA Air Force 1 players were Moses Malone, Jamaal Wilkes, Bobby Jones, Calvin Natt, Michael Cooper and Mychal Thompson. Here's a photo of the original poster:
Mychal Thompson?!? Nike dropped the ball there. I guess that Michael Jordan guy makes up for it.
The AF 1's are one of the most popular shoes in sneaker culture. I myself prefer the Dunks, but I still have a pair of the Sheeds. Now Nike is honoring the 25th anniversary of the AF1's by issuing out the Nike Air Force 25. You can pick up a pair at Eastbay for $149.99. Will they every reach the level of popularity of the AF1's? Probably not, but I'll enjoy the ads along the way.
Finally, I also came across a music video for "The Second Coming" ad. It's basically three minutes of behind-the-scenes action for the commercial. Check it out:

Damn, I shudder to think what would happen to the NBA if that Nike plane would have gone down. Shouldn't they have had everyone fly in separately?
