The Clippers were actually on the positive side of an NBA record last night. After giving up 51 points in the first half and being down by 10 at 59-49 six minutes into the 3rd quarter, the Clippers put the clamps on defensively and allowed just 8 points the rest of the game.
Some of the remarkable stats from last night's game: LA held NOOC without a hoop for over 14 minutes. LA went on a 19-0 run at one point. NOOC managed only 8 points in each of the 3rd and 4th quarters, combining for 16 total in the half which set the record for the lowest in NBA history.
This is the NBA, remember?! Defense isn't exactly a priority for most teams until the playoffs, which makes this even more incredible. Oh, and the previous record for lowest points in a half? That was 19, set by none other than the Clippers in 1999. Maybe things are finally changing for this team.
